- (1888PressRelease) March 21, 2014 - Denver, CO. - CauseLabs, an expert in rapid problem solving exclusively for great causes, is proud to announce its My Story - Book Maker for Kids mobile application is a 2014 Parents' Choice Foundation award winner, receiving a "Recommended" seal of approval from the nation's oldest consumer guide to quality children's media. Fewer than 20% of products submitted to the Parents' Choice Awards program receive any level of commendation.
The Parents' Choice Foundation has been reviewing and recommending quality children's media for more than 33 years. A panel of educators, scientists, artists, librarians, parents, and kids determines the awards, which are designed to provide reliable, unbiased information about quality products.
"This prestigious national award makes CauseLabs feel like a proud parent because the My Story - Book Maker for Kids application was born from our own internal lab days," said CEO T.J. Cook. "We continue to add new features and improvements so thousands more schools, teachers, parents and kids can use the tool to encourage storytelling and build early literacy skills."
Launched in August 2011, My Story - Book Maker for Kids is one of the simplest interfaces for kids ages 5-12 to tell stories and make books by combining drawing, photos, voice recordings, typing. Kids can also share their creations with family and friends. With downloads in 111 countries, the application has proven to have significant classroom appeal, with 64% of downloads made by educational institutions.
"My Story - Book Maker for Kids encourages a wide range of creativity," said Emily Crawford, Parents' Choice reviewer. "Some children will enjoy the artistry and create wonderful fantasies. One tester generated a hand-illustrated diary, complete with narrations. The ease of the sound recordings makes this a particularly entertaining app for younger children."
