- (1888PressRelease) May 24, 2013 - Catholic Family Services has been part of Simcoe County since 1979. As a non-profit organization they have been providing help, offering hope and changing lives through there professional counselling services. These services are designed to help individuals, couples and families in the community who have been brave enough to ask for help but cannot afford to pay for it.
The Barrie Dragon Boat Festival is the organizations only annual fundraiser. It is an excellent opportunity for Simcoe County residents to take part in supporting the charity and the work that they do in the community. If CFSSC reaches their goal of $20,000 they will be able to provide over 165 walk-in counselling sessions to those in need throughout Simcoe County.
The race will be held on August 25, 2013. Those interested in joining the Holy Rowers team are encouraged to visit the organization online at: www.cfssc.ca. There are also sponsorship packages available online for businesses, organizations or groups who are looking to gain positive exposure in Simcoe County.
According to Wanda Rae, Executive Director of CFSSC, "We are very excited about the Barrie Dragon Boat Festival this year. It's a healthy, fun and exciting way for our organization to engage with the local community. We have set the bar high this year with our fundraising goals, but I have no doubt that together we can reach it."
