Catalyst expands CCP consulting arm still further with two new clearing expert hires
Banks, CCPs and clients are tackling major regulatory and structural shifts in the capital markets landscape with the help of Catalyst Development's specialist Central Counterparty Clearing consulting practice - now enhanced by two new CCP expert hires.
- (1888PressRelease) May 07, 2011 - Stephen Loosley is a highly experienced senior Risk Management specialist with deep expertise working in CCPs on OTC derivative products. Stephen was instrumental in running the largest OTC default in history - Lehman Brothers Special Financing, hedge and auction of $9trn cleared notional interest rate swap portfolio. He subsequently led the project for improving SwapClear default management, post-crisis, and enhancement of swap valuation methods (including the introduction of OIS discounting). Stephen was the lead Subject Matter Expert for a variety of LCH.Clearnet programmes including SwapClear's successful Refresh (replacement) programme on Murex and its first-to-market Client Clearing and FCM initiatives.
Matt Zeitsman joins from a senior role at LCH.Clearnet, where his achievements included new product development for OTC commodities, margin collateral enhancements and development of default management models for a wide variety of products. Previously, he held roles at Barclays, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank. Matt brings a wealth of deep domain expertise across a breadth of financial institutions and markets.
As CCPs, banks and other financial institutions formulate their strategic response to the changing landscape, Catalyst Development's specialist CCP team is helping clients make and execute choices on which asset classes, legal entities and CCP solutions are appropriate for their institutions. Stephen Loosley and Matt Zeitsman join Practice Leader Christian Lee's team of CCP experts to enable Catalyst clients to implement CCP solutions, manage risk and generate opportunities from the new landscape.
Catalyst Managing Director Matt Parkinson says, "Adding new domain experts to our CCP practice further enables us to meet the high demand we are experiencing from our client base. We're proud to be the first choice consultancy for so many exchanges and banks looking for strategic advice and implementation skills for central counterparty clearing solutions."
