Cary Weldy Speaks About Using Sacred Geomery In Design And Archictecture
HGTV-featured Interior Designer Cary Weldy speaks to the nation's top engineering school about how he incorporates sacred geometry into his design work.
- Terre Haute, IN (1888PressRelease) September 14, 2010 - On Wednesday evening, Sept. 15, Rose-Hulman alumnus and HGTV Interior Designer Cary Weldy returns to campus to inspire students, faculty, and the Terre Haute community with his unique career path, use of Energetic Geometry in his designs, and contributions toward environmental sustainability.
In this presentation, Weldy will examine how his chemical engineering education at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology provided him with the fundamentals to grow from being a technical sales and marketing professional in the chemical and plastics industry to becoming one of today's top designers in Chicago.
Weldy will also discuss how he integrates Energetic Geometry into his work, a groundbreaking concept that few interior design firms, architects, and builders utilize. This includes examination of the history, power, and mathematical roots of the Golden Ratio, a formula that appears in all of nature. He will also show examples of his own work incorporating Sacred Geometry and other forms of Energetic geometry, including his current renovation of the 7,000 square foot penthouse at the Trump Tower in Chicago, which is the highest residence on six continents.
According to Weldy, "The Golden Ratio has tremendous historical significance, as the masters of art and architecture recognized that all of nature expresses this ratio. So Michelangelo, da Vinci, and other masters incorporated the Divine Ratio in their designs, as early as the Great Pyramids. We are currently filming the project at the Trump, due to its significance and wide use of these powerful geometries, which ultimately cause the home to feel good and energized."
The successful designer is honored to return to campus and is proud of the excellent education he received at Rose-Hulman, as US News & World Report recently ranked their undergraduate program as the top engineering school in the nation for the 12th consecutive year.
The event will be held on Rose-Hulman's campus in the Kahn Room of the Hulman Student Union Building at 7 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information on Cary Weldy, please visit his company's website at caryweldy.com.
