CARTES 2013 takes trust in mobile life from Brazil to Paris

CARTES Secure Connexions Event 2013 is a leading trade show dedicated to the digital-security and smart-technology industries that will be held north of Paris (France), at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition centre from 19 to 21 November 2013. CARTES 2013 will take place in conjunction with Milipol Paris, the international exhibition on internal state security intended for security professionals in the public sector and industry.

Brazil, a major player with regard to connected living, will be the special guest country at CARTES 2013 and will take centre stage at the various events in November. As a country with a population of over 194 million inhabitants that has been enjoying sustained economic growth, Brazil offers many opportunities for major players in the smart-card, identification and mobile-payments sectors. Significant demand for value-added services and Europay Mastercard Visa (EMV) migration, together with the roll-out of various identification-technology projects, has underpinned market growth in these sectors, in what is one of Latin America's largest countries.

In a world where people are becoming ever-more connected and where mobility is a major concern for both companies and countries, issues relating to security, authentication and data protection are priorities for all solution providers. This is why Building Trust in Mobile Life will be the central theme of CARTES Secure Connexions 2013.

The main theme has been divided into four sub-themes that are strategic fields where security and trust are key to successful growth in the mainstream market. The first sub-theme is Mobile Security, including mobile payments, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), and SIM-card security. The second is Secure Mobile Commerce, which includes e-commerce, m-commerce, payment security and interconnected retail. The third sub-theme is Digital Identity, including digital identity, authentication and partnering for digital trust. The final sub-theme is Smart Cities and includes object identities and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications.

CARTES Secure Connexions Event 2013's Schedule

4 June 2013: Press conference on smart shopping. During this conference, there will be a presentation of results from a study carried out by CARTES Secure Connexions and Payment Cards & Mobile on the services provided by new payment-technology players in retail.

24 September 2013: Digital Identity press conference for launch of CARTES 2013. During this press conference, results from a study on digital identity, carried out by CARTES Secure Connexions and Milipol, will be presented. The innovations of CARTES 2013 will also be revealed.

18 November 2013: SESAMES Awards ceremony. The SESAMES Awards go to the top 10 technological innovations in the chip-card, digital-security, identification, secure-payment and contactless sectors. The SESAMES Awards act as a springboard into these various sectors, giving winners a prominence and legitimacy that helps ensure project success.

19 November 2013: The World Card Summit. As the inaugural conference for CARTES, this Summit brings together directors and other top executives from the leading companies in the smart-technology and digital-security sectors.
