  • Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) August 10, 2013 - The Carolina Designer Craftsmen Guild (http://www.carolinadesignercraftsmen.com) has announced that Amy Etheridge has been hired as the new executive director of the organization. The organization's 44th annual event, a showcase of fine crafts, will run from Friday, Nov. 29 through Sunday, Dec.1 at the N.C. State Fairgrounds Exposition Center. This fine designer crafts show, a North Carolina tradition since 1970, features more than 100 juried fine craft artists and their distinctive handmade pottery, jewelry, glass, metal, wood, furniture, sculpture, fiber, printmaking and mixed media.

    Etheridge's responsibilities as executive director of the Guild will include developing community and statewide relationships and increase funding opportunities. Additionally, she will assist in planning the Friend of the Guild Program, the Gala Preview Party and the Fine Designer Craft Show every year. Etheridge has seven years of experience in nonprofit consulting including running her own business, Giving Leadership Opportunity (GLO). Previously she served as executive director of the Gertrude Herbert Arts Institute in Augusta, Ga. Etheridge earned a Bachelor of Science in education from University of Georgia in Athens and a Certificate of Nonprofit Management from Duke University. A native of Georgia, she resides in Raleigh.
