The Art market is much like the stock market. Unless it's promoted, shown, displayed and placed in the proper collections, it holds no value
(1888PressRelease) June 29, 2012 - New York, NY - Carin H. Constant, an established financial advisor, prolific New York based artist and curator of ContantXposure.com, recently announced the launch of her high net worth art advisory service. Carin Constant's career in art includes positions in the Fine Arts administration department at Sotheby Parke Bernet Galleries located at 980 Madison Avenue. Carin Constant interfaced with international fine art dealers, collectors and auction house experts and worked to identify and estimate works of art that may be accepted at auction. Carin H. Constant also worked with dealers and other auction houses such as Christies and Phillips. It was during this time that Carin gained experience working with famous international collectors, art consultants, artists and art dealers.
Carin Constant was then hired by William Copley to formalize, price, photograph, and catalog his art trust estate. She worked directly with High Hildesheim, head of business and collection advisor at Sotheby's to prepare for the auction. After the auction, Carin Constant remained on as William Copley' assistant for the next year which involved extensive travel and interactions with high profile artsists including: David Bowie, Keith Haring, Claus Oldenburg, Andy Warhol, Chryssa, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, Jasper Johns, Leo Castelli, Heiner Friederich, and art foundation experts like the DeMenils. Carin has also worked closely with Michael Stout, lawyer for Salvador Dali, Robert Mapplethorpe and Isabella Rossellini.
Carin Constant currently serves as Senior Vice President-Institutional Sales for Westminster Securities and her experience in the financial sector is exceptional and includes positions with companies including: Morgan Stanley, Paine Webber and Prudential. Carin Constants experience in the art world is no less exceptional; she began her college education at Tulane University and pursued French studies in literature and poetry at the University of Grenoble, France. Carin Constant also attended Lake Forest College in Illinois where she majored in Art History and minored in Philosophy and Political Science. Carin Constant received a BA from Lake Forest in Fine arts while sailing the Bosphorus Strait outside of Istanbul towards Russia.
Over the past few years, the art world has grown exponentially and Carin Constant is now able to combine her investment experience with her vast knowledge of artists and the art world in order to bring valuable insight to corporations, high net worth individuals, and foundations interested in the formation of an art trust as an intricacy value for the future.
"The Art market is much like the stock market. Unless it's promoted, shown, displayed and placed in the proper collections, it holds no value," said Carin Constant. "There is no transparency in the art market per say; it's not liquid or tradable as a stock or bond. The ultimate fact is that one has to live and enjoy the artwork whether or not it holds its value." To learn more about investing in art or the formation of an art trust, contact Carin H. Constant.
