  • Provo-Orem, UT (1888PressRelease) July 31, 2014 - Career Step, an online provider of career-focused education, is pleased to announce that it will be offering four new scholarships. These programs are designed to support mothers who are returning to school, military service members and their spouses, and graduating high school seniors as they pursue higher education through a college, university, vocational or certificate program.

"At Career Step, we are committed to improving lives through education," said Steve Tober, Career Step CEO. "We strongly believe education makes a significant difference-whether you are training with us or another quality institution-and our new scholarship programs are meant to support all types of education. We are excited for these initiatives because they allow us to champion the cause of education with our students, graduates, and beyond."

Career Step is offering four scholarships: one for graduating high school seniors, two for mothers returning to school, and one for military service members and their spouses. Each scholarship will provide the recipient $2,000 they can use toward tuition at the institution of their choice. Deadlines vary-mothers returning to school must submit applications by August 31 or December 31 and graduating seniors and members of the military community must apply by October 31.
To apply for any of the scholarships, applicants must submit an 800 to 1000 word essay on how they plan to use their education to benefit their family and community. Applicants can also submit their entry by video. Essays should contain specific experiences that encouraged them to continue their education or specific situations where they can apply the skills they will gain. Scholarship winners will be announced within 30 days of the application deadline.

"We have chosen these scholarships carefully by identifying audiences we have strong ties to," said Ryan Ewer, Career Step Vice President of Enrollments and Marketing. "We have a strong history of supporting mothers who are returning to school, we remain committed to serving the military community, and we believe graduating high school seniors are a critical part of our future. We want to give back to each of these groups by encouraging and supporting the pursuit of higher education."
