Onlinebrandimage.com realized that restaurateurs needed a pro-active strategy to manage their online image and the social media that drives it. To further this effort Menzel & Associates has launched a new research report that will be available four times per year the service is called the Online Brand Awareness Index (OBA) and the Restaurant Quality Index (RQI).
These proprietary tools can help a company establish a leadership position for on-line awareness, guest interaction and brand advocacy. The ability for restaurateurs to leverage this fist of it kind tool is invaluable since most consumers are just beginning to use the various rating services, and there is currently little control over the resulting brand image. Moreover, guests under 25 get most of their information from the web, and the importance of pro-actively managing a brand's on- line image will only grow. On-line ratings can also affect the success of on-line reservations, gift card purchases and mobile phone promotions.
RQI© is a very flexible and affordable research metric based on compiling existing on- line ratings. RQI© and the related Online Brand Awareness (OBA©) service are presented at www.onlinebrandimage.com. The RQI © score is relative to the segment average, so a score of 95 means 5% below average and 110 means 10% above average. The components of the segment can be selected by the user, and data is available by city. The goal is to use the RQI© ratings to understand a brand's current results and then develop quantitative goals and action plans to improve the ratings.
