Cantonnet & Cantonnet Debuts Inaugural Jewelry Collection Inspired By Theme Of Cultural Communication
Personal journey from West to East the catalyst for US designer to launch Gabriel Collection; exclusive gemstone pieces available for private viewing at Burj Khalifa showcase.
- (1888PressRelease) September 14, 2012 - UAE based fine jewelry designer Cantonnet & Cantonnet debuts its inaugural collection this month with statement pieces inspired by an East meets West fusion of cultural traditions and belief systems designed to resonate with bold, intelligent women around the globe.
The Gabriel Collection is the creative brainchild of international entrepreneur 'Cantonnet', who established Cantonnet & Cantonnet in Dubai in 2010 after relocating to the Emirates from Saudi Arabia.
A long-term New York resident and highly successful business owner specializing in real estate development and design, Cantonnet was directly impacted by the global financial crisis of 2008 and, along with her husband, made the "life-changing" decision to relocate to Saudi Arabia.
"This proved to be a blessing in disguise, not only in terms of re-establishing financial stability in what is an exciting emerging market environment, but as the catalyst for a personal journey of discovery, which heralded the beginning of Cantonnet & Cantonnet," she said.
A name synonymous with exceptional quality and thought-provoking creativity, the Cantonnet & Cantonnet brand is founded on the principles of capturing timeless beauty through intelligent emotive design, to produce symbolic collections that cross cultural and geographical boundaries.
Inspired by the opportunity to immerse herself into a completely new culture, with its own rich heritage and respect for traditional values, she was particularly moved by the importance of faith in all aspects of daily life.
"The launch of this collection has deep personal significance, and is a result of both a long-held desire to express my inner creativity through the medium of jewelry design, as well as a physical manifestation of my own journey from West to East, and the bridging of cultures," she said.
The Gabriel Collection is named after the Archangel Gabriel - or Jibril - who is prominent in both Christianity and Islam. Also known as the angel of communication, this forms the foundation for the theme of the collection - the communication of an unspoken language through a common messenger.
Featuring a dazzling array of earrings designed using 18-carat gold and precious and semi-precious gemstones including GVS1-graded diamonds, freshwater pearls, black onyx, blue topaz and green and pink tourmaline, the collection makes a powerful visual first impression and is exclusively available online at www.cantonnet.net
"The Gabriel Collection was born to be worn by women around the globe who want to share their beliefs, command respect and connect with others through an unspoken language," she said.
Each handcrafted piece is individually numbered and bespoke commissions are also available upon request, with custom-designed sets using favorite birthstones or other gems with personal significance. The high quality precious and semi-precious gemstones used in the collection are sourced from ethically approved suppliers across the globe, and all pieces come with a certificate of authenticity.
Prices range from US$8,000 up to US$33,0000.
