Canada's Confederation College Helps Boost Northwestern Ontario's Health Care Sector With EMS Technology
Confederation College promotes excellence in Northwestern Ontario's health care sector with contemporary health care education and Education Management Solutions' cutting-edge technology.
- Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) January 12, 2011 - Education Management Solutions (EMS) will provide the health sciences programs of Ontario, Canada's Confederation College with a fully integrated medical simulation management solution. EMS technology will have a significant presence in Confederation's Regional Education Alliance for Community Health (REACH) Centre, which has a completion date of spring 2011.
According to Barb Morrison, Nursing Professor at Confederation, "REACH will become a centre for academic, laboratory, simulation and clinical fieldwork education and will meet the needs of students in the School of Health and Community Services, as well as locally and regionally within an interprofessional, intergenerational and intercultural framework. It will allow for further integration of simulation into college programs and will open possibilities for further partnerships with community and regional agencies in health and community service education. "
REACH will be equipped with simulation labs, simulation suites with adjoining debriefing rooms, a fully functioning apartment, and paramedic labs. These new settings will be outfitted with EMS' simulation management technology and audio/visual system to manage clinical skills training and exam process from scheduling all the way through to scores and final reports.
Graduates of Confederation's health and community services programs boast a high employment rate, a factor that may have contributed to the college's 20% rise in enrollment over the last 3 years. Confederation's investment in EMS technology reveals the hope it has for its current and future students, as well as Northwest Ontario's health care community.
