Camlel Art Foundation Paving The Way To Success For Young Artists Of India
Camel Art Foundation was initiated by Camlin Limited primarily to recognize national creative and artistic talent and to also gift the deserving winners a trip to visit prominent art galleries in Europe.
- (1888PressRelease) August 02, 2011 - Since its inception in 1997, a total of 47 regional art exhibitions have been held in all four regions of India with prize money of Rs.1,50,000/- being awarded during each exhibition. This year saw the ninth Euro Art tour with a participation of seven deserving winners.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Dilip Dandekar (Chairman & Managing Director, Camlin Ltd., said that, "The foundation's main objective is to promote art activities and create a platform for budding Indian artists. Through Euro Art tour we are providing an opportunity for professional artists to look beyond the Indian art scene, to see and study the works of renowned international artists in the various art centres of Europe".
Each year a group of eminent artists form the panel of judges and after personal interviews and final analysis of each artists profile with his works and winning entry, select the deserving artists for Euro Art Tour. This year the candidates were selected from the winners of four regional art exhibitions held in the year 2010.
During their 10 day stay in Europe, the group visited Paris, Rome, Florence & Venice.
• In Paris they visited - The Louvre, Orsay Museum, Picasso Museum, Pompidou Centre, which are known for rich collection of art.
• In Rome - Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and Galleria Nazionale d' Arte Modern.
• Florence - Bargello (famous for sculptures) and Uffizi.
• Whereas in Venice - Ancient churches & beautiful landscapes..
Speaking about the selection criteria, Mr. Prabhakar Kolte, a renowned artist and the member of national jury said that, "From more than 5000 participating artists from four region of the country, 36 best regional artists were selected by a panel of Judges. Out of these 36 artists, 7 were selected for the Euro Art tour based on their works and post a personal interview with the national jury members
About Camlin Art Foundation (CAF):
CAF was instituted in 1998 to bring talented artists to the limelight. The objective of Camel Art Foundations is to provide a platform for art students, amateur artists and professional artists to display their talent.
Besides getting an opportunity to display their work, the artists with the best paintings are also rewarded with grand prizes from Camlin.CAF started with western region in 1998 and completed all four regions in year 2001. So far held 47 regional exhibitions and have received more than 30000 entries. There are two categories for the participants, i.e. professionals and Art College students. There are four medium in which they can participate namely Oil, Water, Acrylic Colours and Mixed media. The winning paintings are sold if the artist wishes so and the entire amount is handed over to the artist..
