Called up to a global stage: Moviecom.tv heads to Google I/O to present at the Developers Sandbox
The founders of Moviecom.tv are to present their technology to an audience of thousands at the prestigious Google I/O Sandbox in San Francisco.
- (1888PressRelease) June 29, 2012 - Invited by YouTube to participate in the conference's Developer Sandbox event, the 2011 Red Herring Global 100 winner will join a select invited group of developers to discuss and demonstrate the integration of YouTube APIs into the Moviecom.tv platform.
The Scotland based company, which is set to launch a US office in late 2012, will show high profile figures from Google and YouTube, investors, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs how the platform's effective application to a wide range of purposes and verticals is already changing the way businesses present themselves online.
"With our sights firmly fixed on expansion into the US market, the creative culture in Silicon Valley is perfect for a company like ours. Each time we visit we meet some amazing people who understand our business and have valuable conversations that we feed back into our framework to improve our product, and I'm positive that the Sandbox will prove no different in that sense," said Moviecom.tv founder Gillian O'Neil.
"These events are about celebrating innovation, ambition and entrepreneurial courage. They're a chance for the entire industry to get together and demonstrate the very best uses of leading-edge technology, and we're delighted to be part of that."
Commanding close attention throughout the global technology and media industries, the Google I/O conference is focused on the technology world's latest web, mobile and social breakthroughs. The Developer Sandbox area of the conference - first introduced at I/O 2009 - offers developers of pioneering applications the opportunity to demonstrate applications, answer questions on their service or products, and exchange ideas with key members of the technology community.
Introducing the Moviecom.tv service concept, key features and its potential for growth - particularly within the US market - the team will present the online video platform as a compelling tool developed to enable businesses to create, centralize and share video content, with the additional opportunity of generating further income through the channel.
Commenting on Moviecom.tv joining Google, YouTube and other major industry big hitters at the Google I/O Conference, Gillian O'Neil explained:
"Receiving an invitation to take part in this year's Google I/O conference was truly phenomenal and marks a very significant moment in Moviecom.tv's journey. Providing the perfect stage to showcase our product, the Developer Sandbox - and the entire Google I/O conference for that matter - enables us rub shoulders and communicate with some of the most influential figures in the online video industry, and get further involved in the wider Silicon Valley business community.
"Being given the opportunity to take part in the Developer Sandbox is a huge deal for us and a massive achievement in itself. It affirms our belief that we've created an innovative and disruptive product that adds an extra dimension to the online video content market. I'm absolutely thrilled that our team's hard work and dedication has been recognised by YouTube at such a crucial stage of our growth strategy and look forward to the event and months following," O'Neil added.
Identified as a business at the forefront of the online video industry, Moviecom.tv recognises the unlimited commercial opportunities presented by the market. Having quickly expanded its operations - securing thousands of users from small and medium sized businesses to FTSE 100 companies from over 50 countries - and further developed its technologies to include an iPhone application since its launch in 2007, the digital platform has successfully evolved into offering a network that enables businesses to centralise and control all online content - video, blog posts, tweets and posts - and to monetise their profile site through the sale of advertising space.
The journey to Google I/O in San Francisco marks a turning point in Moviecom.tv's history. The team has previously visited the US - taking in both East and West coasts - driving the business forward according to their ambitious growth plans, and formed key relationships with individuals and businesses. Taking up their position at the Developers Sandbox is set to place the business in prime position for successfully carving out a definite presence in the US market by targeting strategic partnerships with those businesses holding mass B2B customer bases, while offering a commercially viable online hub for businesses to host all of their online video and digital content.
Co Founder of Moviecom.tv, Kev O'Neil commented:
"Winning a Red Herring Global 100 in 2011, and being invited to present at this year's Google I/O conference has given us huge confidence to push forward on a global scale. Enabling people to interact with our product is the best way to demonstrate our concept and simple, seamless user experience, and to show businesses how they can add value to key strategies, generate additional revenue, and deliver business goals through the incorporation of online video."
