(1888PressRelease) December 16, 2011 - Aegis Graham Bell Awards 2012 ceremony is scheduled in 11 May 2012 in New Delhi. The Jury round will be held on 21-23 March 2012 at the platform of Convergence India 2012 in New Delhi which is South Asia's largest ICT Expo.

"Apps Galaxy 2012" for mobile apps developers is the new feature added as part of Convergence India 2012. Successful participants of Apps Galaxy will automatically be considered for Aegis Graham Bell Awards 2012 and will be recognized during the award ceremony.

A jury of prominent personalities will be reviewing the nominations in public view during the convergence India. All participants will present their ideas, solutions, product for 10 min.

Aegis Graham Bell Awards 2011 was a great success with participation of leading companies like Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance, Idea, Uninor, Videocon, TCS, Amdocs, Lava, Comviva, Spice Digital, Nokia Siemens Network, BSNL, Telcordia etc. The leaders of industry converged at the Hyatt Regency, Mumbai on 23 July 2011 for the high octane award ceremony attended by Shri Sachin Pilot, the hon'ble Minister of State for Communications & IT as the chief guest.

The core objective of the awards is to develop an eco system to promote innovation in India. Powered by Microqual, the event felicitated the contributions and achievements of some of the best-in-class organizations and professionals from TIME. PricewaterhouseCoopers, the Knowledge Partners of this initiative validated all the awards. This initiative was supported by Cellular Operators Association India (COAI), ITU APT, IETE, and IPTV India forum and Telecom Users Group TUG, Voice & Data.

The awards were categorized under various categories of Innovation in Telecom, Internet, Media& Edutainment. The winners of the different Sub Categories are:

Comviva Technologies won the award in the category of Innovation in Mobile Money. They also won the award in the category of Innovation in Mobile Gaming. Spice Digital won two awards in the category of Innovation in mEntertainment and Innovation in mLearning. Yotto Labs won the award in the category of Innovation in Social Networking where as Vibes Media won the award for Innovation in Content Application. Walking Media won the award in the category of Converged Media platform. Knowlarity Communication won the award in the category of Innovation in Cloud Services. Kochar Infotech won the award in the category of Innovation in Mobile Enterprise Solution whereas Tata Consultancy Services won the award in the category of Innovation in Mobile Apps. Award for Innovative Telecom Business Model won by Movirtu Limited, Tejas Network won the award for Innovative Telecom Product. Telcordia won the award in the category of Innovative Telecom OSS/BSS. The award for Innovation in Green Telecom won by Nokia Siemens Network along with the award in Mobile Technology Breakthrough. Intelenet won the award in the category of Innovative Business Idea of the Year. Idea won the award in the category of Innovative Value Added Services. Uninor & Videocon shared the award in the category of Innovative Tariff plans. Based on the TRAI data, the award for Best Broadband Network performance won by Reliance Communications. Also award for Best Telecom Operator for Landline Accessibility was won by Airtel. This award was also based on TRAI data.

Vodafone bagged the Jury's award for the Best Mobile Phone Service Provider and BSNL won the special jury's award for Bringing Fortune at the Bottom of the pyramid.

Amdocs India head Mr. Anshoo Gaur has presented Amdocs Aegis Graham Bell Scholarship Award to one student for pursuing his Masters in Telecom Management studies with full funding at Aegis School of Business. Lava also established similar scholarship LAVA Aegis Graham Bell Scholar.

The Event concluded on the note of positivity and hope for better and larger innovations in the ensuing year.
