California Tree Company Reaches Platinum Status in Green Business Certification
Paulownia Trees provides sustainable energy trees for home gardens and landscaping while implementing green business practices.
- Houston, TX (1888PressRelease) July 28, 2011 - The Paulownia Tree Company, founded in 1997, has reached platinum status through the Green Business Bureau's (GBB) green certification program (www.gbb.org).
The tree company is recognized by GBB for its outstanding commitment to conserving the environment and for adopting principles and practices that demonstrate the ability to operate in a green manner.
The GBB provides national, third-party green business certifications for businesses that strive to reach sustainability, save money and improve the environment.
Zoe'Anna Thies, Owner of The Paulownia Tree Company says she chose the GBB's green certification program because she likes what the company stands for.
"I created a mission statement for myself that I would only do work that directly healed the planet or healed humans," says Thies. "My company sells Paulownia trees which are one of the few trees in the world that can grow and thrive while cleaning the air, soil and water. They are also used for biomass, wood production and carbon sequestion. My goal is to have everyone I know plant one tree, and then have everyone they know plant one tree, and so on, which will eventually make a huge impact in improving our environment."
According to Thies, the trees are the perfect sustainable energy tree for your home; in the summer, they provide shade and during winter the leaves fall off at first frost to allow direct sunlight to your home.
In recent years, Paulownia trees were gifted to celebrities at the Oscars as part of an environmental gift basket along with products from REAL GOODS and GAIAM.
"GBB is proud to recognize Paulownia Tree Company's contribution to making the environment a healthier place live," says Marcos J. Cordero, LEED AP and CEO of GBB. "The added benefits of green certifications include cost-savings, increased ROI and increased marketing opportunities that companies receive when implementing green practices."
