SHOOTING FROM THE HIP - STREET PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2011
Street or urban photography arguably is the most challenging area of photography. But it is a way to make personal observations and statements which can be fun and rewarding.
Learn how to transform everyday life situations into powerful images. You will learn how to approach and photograph a stranger, learn about anti-composition, shooting from the hip, and working a corner.
We will be shooting Chinese New Year's Parade and Hollywood
THE WINTER LANDSCAPE. February 19, 2011
Photographing winter landscapes can be one of the most difficult, yet rewarding types of photography. Whether you are shooting a wide landscape or a single snowflake, less than ideal conditions can challenge even the most experienced photographer. The workshop's main purpose is to learn how to make a great photograph in less than ideal conditions and to learn how to make something out of nothing.
This one day workshop will be held in the Tejon Pass, California.
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY - Including the Santa Ynez Valley and La Purisima
Mission
March 19-20, 2011
Over the last five years, I have led dozens of groups on walking photo tours throughout Santa Barbara.
We will spend one day photographing beautiful Santa Barbara and a second day photographing the Santa Ynez Valley and Lompoc areas. This area is famous for its wineries, the symmetrical rows make for wonderful backdrops to the rolling hills and Valley (live is not technically correct) Oak trees. We will also spend time photographing La Purisima Mission, which was founded in 1787 and is one of California's oldest Spanish missions.
While in Santa Barbara, we will photograph the "Queen of Missions"-the famed Santa Barbara Mission, Santa Barbara County Courthouse, El Presidio de Santa Barbara, Mount Carmel Church in Montecito, and more. We will be photographing iconic historic images of Santa Barbara's architecture, street life, and scenic images.
FIFTH ANNUAL ALABAMA HILLS, CALIFORNIA WORKSHOP
April 30th and May 1, 2011
Enjoy a weekend to the Sierra Nevada Range when the light is right! For either the beginner or advanced photographer.
Between the base of Mt. Whitney in the steep, eastern escarpment of the Sierra Nevada Range, and the historic town of Lone Pine, where the extensive movie history of the area is evident, are the stunningly unique Alabama Hills. Seemingly primordial-looking boulders and micro-ranges of rock create an infinitely textured foreground of smooth and rounded shapes with a dramatic view of the rising Sierra peaks above.
Informal and fun, your instructors will be shooting alongside you at all times. We will have discussions about techniques and creativity each day. This trip is about shooting - lots of shooting. We will work closely together, sharing our knowledge and experience.
THE EASTERN SIERRA - MONO LAKE AND BODIE GHOST TOWN
June 15-19, 2011

For those who have not been to this part of the Eastern Sierras you will be in for a big treat. It is one of the most scenic locations in the world.
ANTELOPE SLOT CANYON, MONUMENT VALLEY AND NATURAL BRIDGES
AUGUST 10-14, 2011
Join Keith Skelton on a five day workshop where you will photograph free standing sandstone rock forms that rise majestically 1,000 feet from the desert floor. We will be photographing the amazing slot canyons, Natural Bridges and the Mule Canyon
Anasazi Ruins. We will teach you how to tap into your creativity so that you return home with many memorable photographs.
