CALGreen Understanding New Building Codes Event Wednesday, June 15th A Green Technology Training Event
Monterey County Business Council and the Institute for Innovation and Economic Development (iiED) have partnered to bring a statewide training to Monterey for the convenience of our local building indutsry members. This course will prepare you for the State mandated CALGreen code and provided CEU's for AIA, ICC and LEED/USGBC.
- Salinas, CA (1888PressRelease) May 11, 2011 - The Monterey County Business Council, in collaboration with the Building Standards Commission and The CA Department of Housing & Community Development, will be holding a seminar on what you must know about the new mandatory building requirements on Wednesday, June 15th at the Hyatt Monterey Hotel and Spa located at 1 Old Golf Course Road in Monterey.

There will also be a panel of local Building Officials to explain how this compares to local codes and how CALGreen will be implemented.

Background on New Building Requirements:
Mandatory January 1, 2011 - CALGreen affects all new residential and commercial design and construction in the State of California.
This code mandates new requirements in new commercial and residential construction. These will impact architects, interior designers, engineers, specifiers, contractors, building departments and several other building professions.
Green Technology's CALGreen training, developed in partnership with the California Building Standards Commission and the Department of Housing and Community Development, has proven the most popular and effective introduction to this new code.
Addressing LEED and GreenPoint Rated: Seminars now include a comparison of CALGreen to LEED and GreenPoint Rated.
BONUS: A panel of local jurisdiction building officials will be on hand to answer questions as to the new code's enforcement.
