Cafe21 Bites Off A Corner of the Gaslamp To Open New Location
Nature's kitchen moves into former Croce's spot.
- (1888PressRelease) February 05, 2014 - San Diego - Since opening its doors in 2007, Cafe21 has drawn customers to its restaurant with fresh cuisine and other worldly appeal. Owners Alex and Leyla Javadov established a strong following when they first started cooking out of their home and have been expanding to meet the demand ever since. They recently signed a ten-year lease for Cafe21's latest move.
The new space, located at 802 5th Ave. (formerly Croce's), is 4,000 square-feet, and accommodates 200 people. While this move is in no way out of character for the business, they will be offering new amenities such as live music, and a unique seasonal cocktail program with a farmer's market flair. The current restaurant will remain open until the new location is ready to welcome guests in Spring of 2014. Minor aesthetic renovations will be made to the restaurant but no major structural changes are planned. The Javadovs' vision is to create a place for locals, which brings a neighborhood feel to the ever-popular Gaslamp district.
