Cleveland-Lorain-Elyria, OH (1888PressRelease) August 17, 2011 - At the last show held on June 11th, all over the Geauga County Fairgrounds you could hear the same comments from both dealers and buyers - "great merchandise, great attendance, great sales". Yes, Burton is back. Now in its' 50th year, the Burton Antiques Market is returning to the grandeur and notoriety that this show once enjoyed for decades. The last 10 years has seen the show go steadily downhill in terms of quality of merchandise and quantity of dealers. Now with new promoters in charge, Kay and Bill Puchstein, the Burton show is well on its way to returning to one of the finest Antique events to be held in the country all year.

300 of America's finest dealers were on hand at the first of this years Antique Markets held June 11th. The addition of 45 inside booths to the show was a big success as many quality dealers returned to the show after years of being away . One of the dealers reporting a great show was Carol Swope, Ohio, who sold lots of country furniture and country smalls. Karol Atkinson, an advertising dealer from Pa., had a terrific show selling spool cabinets, signs, and smalls. Longtime dealers from Indiana, Colleen Vagnini and Phil Starns, had their best one day show ever in 30 years with weathervanes, postcards, and paper ephemera. Another dealer who reported having a wonderful show was Gary Promey who returned to the show after a long absence.

Early Buyers attendance was up over 20% from last year as over 1000 customers took advantage of the 8 a.m. opening and a 2 hour head start to shop before the huge crowds arrived at 10 a.m. Cars were parked in areas that had not been used by the antique show in over 10 years. New records were also set for General Admission customers. People came to see a great show and they were not disappointed. Kay Puchstein, nationally known show promoter of over 350 antique shows stated, "I have never had so many positive comments from everyone at any show I have ever been involved with. This show was a pleasure to run."

Don't miss what promises to be one of the most exciting events of the antiques show summer season. Now celebrating its 50th year, the Burton Antiques Market returns to the Geauga County Fairgrounds for the grand finale of this years' semi-annual shows on September 24th. With 400 of America's leading dealers displaying their finest antiques and old collectibles, there promises to be something for everyone in all price ranges.

The show starts off at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, September 24th, for Early Buyers wanting to start the treasure hunt and get the first look at the vast array of merchandise being offered. Early Buyers admission is $20. The show continues Saturday from 10 - 5 with General Admission for $6.00. Nearby parking is free. Great food will be available from the dozens of concession stands. Lots of help will be on hand to assist customers purchasing items on the field to take the merchandise to a loading area where some of the local Amish men will help with loading.

Kay Puchstein added "With 1 month to go until the next show, Saturday, September 24th, we already have more dealers signed up than were present at last years' September show. Dozens of dealers who have not attended the show for years are signing up and coming back. It is going to be a very big show." Many of the returning vendors have done the show for over 30 years and some for over 40 years and a few for an unbelievable 50 years.

Silver, fine china, jewelry, porcelains, glassware, textiles, paintings, Americana, garden furniture, decorative accessories, rugs, primitives, old tools, and much, much more will be found. Dealers from all over the United States and Canada will be displaying their finest merchandise.

The show will be held rain or shine on the racetrack in Burton at Ohio's oldest county fairgrounds. Most dealers will be under tents and many more vendors will be located inside under the grandstand. Burton is located just east of Cleveland in the rolling countryside of Northeast Ohio. The area around Burton is home to one of the largest Amish Community in the world.
