Burke Ingraffia Announces His New Singer/Songwriter Album, Waves
Jazz and folk musician Burke Ingraffia from New Orleans will be releasing a new album in March, 2020.
- New Orleans, LA (1888PressRelease) January 23, 2020 - Burke Ingraffia announces his return, bringing more of his thoughtful and witty songs to fans with the release of his long-awaited sixth album, Waves. The forthcoming record is a follow-up to his 2011 album, Jazz Animals, and is set to be released on March 27, 2020.
Waves is produced by multiple Grammy Award winners Scott Billington (Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Professor Longhair, Irma Thomas, Bobby Rush) and Steve Reynolds (Irma Thomas, Bobby Rush), and features some of New Orleans' finest musicians, including Johnny Vidacovich, James Singleton, John Gros, Helen Gillet, Tim Laughlin, Dave Easley, Jeff Albert, Marcello Benetti, Michael Skinkus, Johnette Downing, and Scott Billington.
Waves is composed of 10 tracks, ranging in style and sentiment from the lush and warm title song — to the biting humor of “Business as Usual” — to the uplifting low-down grit of “Above and Below.” And while each song varies in genre and tone, Ingraffia masterfully combines the Southern jazz blues tradition with acoustic folk rock and meaningful lyrics that are paradoxically both serious and lighthearted.

Burke Ingraffia has been a finalist at the Kerrville Folk Festival’s New Folk competition as well as a semi-finalist at the Telluride Troubadour competition. He is a member of Folk Alliance International and the Americana Music Association.
Ingraffia now resides in the Washington DC area. He is currently booking his 2020 summer tour schedule.
