- (1888PressRelease) May 11, 2011 - COLUMBUS, Ohio - Committed to providing quality products to original equipment manufacturers for more than 100 years, Buckeye Shapeform is pleased to announce its advancement to Gold supplier status at Lockheed Martin's [NYSE:LMT] Missiles and Fire Control business unit. Buckeye Shapeform supplies various products to Lockheed Martin, including missile skin produced by its deep draw technology.
"We are honored to achieve this new designation and proud to serve Lockheed Martin facilities across the country with everything from deep draw products to enclosures," says Ken Tumblison, president of Buckeye Shapeform. "We supply approximately 30 Lockheed Martin sites and constantly strive for the highest ratings for on-time quality work and products."
Lockheed Martin granted the Gold level award following a day-long review of Buckeye Shapeform's manufacturing performance, quality systems and organizational effectiveness. Quality and delivery performance must be 99 percent or better to qualify for the Gold level award, with Buckeye Shapeform among a limited number of firms obtaining Gold status. Currently, there are 80 suppliers within the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Preferred Supplier Program.

Lockheed Martin grants the Gold level award to suppliers who exhibit a philosophy of continuous improvement.
Tumblison adds, "The latest award will continue to support Buckeye Shapeform's goal for a long-term partnership with Lockheed Martin and will sustain Buckeye Shapeform's current efforts to achieve Lockheed Martin's Platinum award, the highest honor in the Preferred Supplier Program."
