Brunswick, Ohio Festival Gives $6000 to Local Nonprofit Groups at Heimatland's Oktoberfest
Two local nonprofit groups receive donations from the June 2012 Brunswick Old Fashioned Days Festival's ticket sales.
- Cleveland-Lorain-Elyria, OH (1888PressRelease) August 24, 2012 - The Old Fashioned Days Festival committee will present two local Brunswick, Ohio, non profit groups, the Blue Pride Foundation and the HANDS foundation a total of $6,000 Friday evening at Heimatland's Oktoberfest. This special presentation will take place on the main stage behind Heimatland's Restaurant on Center Road Friday at 7pm, August 24, 2012. Kevin Schemrich and Caryn Kish, two of the festival directors, will present each charity with a check. The donations were generated from the June 2012 Old Fashioned Days Festival's ticket sales.
The Blue Pride Foundation, a charitable organization created to support the families of Brunswick students involved in a fatal car accident just before graduation as well as student advocacy, and scholarships for Brunswick High School students, will receive $3,500 from the Old Fashioned Days Festival committee. Blue Pride Foundation member, Cindie Schneider, will accept the check on the foundation's behalf Friday.
A local charity created to help improve the quality of life for Medina County seniors, the HANDS foundation provides grants to senior residents up to $150. A member of the HANDS foundation will accept the $2,500 donation Friday evening.
Charitable donations are normally presented in December or January by the festival committee; however, Oktoberfest, sponsored in part by Old Fashioned Days, provided an opportunity to present the awards to both of the recipients.
