Travis Landry, Bruneau’s Director of Pop Culture, described the auction as “certainly the most diverse sale we have ever had for the department.” It starts at 10 am Eastern.
A series of further auctions will also be conducted throughout the year, featuring Mr. Yanchus’s models, toys and more. Part 2 will be Bruneau & Co.’s largest comic auction to date.
The Spring Comic, Toy & Sports Auction will be held online and live at the gallery in Cranston, R.I. The auction will feature 430 top-quality Pop Culture lots, curated from across the country.
The online-only Estate Fine Art & Antique auction featured over 350 lots, from estates and collections across New England. Original artwork and Asian textiles did particularly well.
Rarity and desirability trumped condition, as bidders closed out a banner year for vintage comic books. Next up for Bruneau & Co. is a 20-lot comic book auction on January 1st.
The comic books are all from a single-owner Midwest collection (Bruneau & Co. sold the bulk of them this past year). What remains are his last, final comics, to be sold without reserves.
The sale will focus on the French & Indian War, American Revolution, Civil War, World Wars I and II and modern firearms - ideal for beginning collector to advanced collections.
Both artists have appeared in Bruneau & Co. auctions before, with successful results. They’re back now for an encore. The 327-lot auction is online-only, with a start time of 6 pm Eastern.
