Browne Jacobson appointed as key adviser to church schools
Specialist education law firm Browne Jacobson has been appointed by the Diocese of Shrewsbury to advise Catholic schools over possible conversion to academy status.
- (1888PressRelease) June 14, 2012 - Browne Jacobson, which is ranked as one of the top five education law firms in the country , will provide guidance and advice on converting to academy status diocesan Catholic schools across Cheshire, Shropshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Derbyshire.
Dominic Swift, head of the public sector group at Browne Jacobson said: "As well as having advised on one in 10 of all academy conversions nationwide, we have also worked in partnership with a number of dioceses as they support all their schools, whether they decide to convert to academies or not.
"The conversion process can be a difficult one for schools to navigate and the Diocese wanted to ensure that any school which chose to go down that route had the support of a specialist adviser to guide them through the process and beyond."
The Diocese of Shrewsbury has 112 primary and secondary schools in 11 local authorities.
