Organised by media specialists, Insider Media Ltd, the Awards are aimed at showcasing the achievements of companies excelling across the globe through their service provision, manufacturing and innovation, Insider's International Trade Awards recognise businesses that are continually investing overseas.

Imetrum, a spin out from Bristol University, invented and continues to develop a unique video-based measurement system that is used for materials analysis in a number of industries including materials science and civil engineering. The company has been extremely successful in selling the product to both academia and the commercial sector. Prestigious organisations such as Airbus, Rolls Royce and BAE Systems all use the product for cutting edge research and development. There are currently approximately 200 software licences out in the market and 150 systems. These are sold either directly through distributors or with OEM Partners.

Commenting on the shortlisting, John Brewster, Managing Director at Imetrum says: "The global market is vital for continued growth of the company. We have invested heavily in global marketing, both in terms of bringing new personnel on board to oversee our international development and seeking out committed and dedicated overseas distributors and agents. Currently, 75% of our business is export."

Winners of the Award will be announced on Thursday 22nd May at a Gala Dinner in Bristol.
