- (1888PressRelease) April 15, 2021 - New York, NY – Brilliant Minds Collective is proud to announce their second webinar series entitled “THE DEMONIZATION OF BLACK SKIN AND THE BIRTH OF COLORISM”. This three-part series, available on Facebook Live and Zoom, will focus on White Privilege vs. Black Excellence and how the targeted promotion of whiteness has created the color and relationship divide as well as financial insecurities in African American communities; the whitewashing of Black history and how it was meant to erase Black contributions; and the anxiety of Black acceptance, especially for African Americans and where they can experience what “White Privilege” feels like.
“THE DEMONIZATION OF BLACK SKIN AND THE BIRTH OF COLORISM”, hosted and moderated by International Energy Advisor, Jacqueline Khoury, kicks off on Wednesday April 28, 2021 at 5:30pm EDT with PART ONE - THE COLOR OF ACCEPTANCE: WHEN WHITE PRIVILEGE MEETS BLACK EXCELLENCE. Award-Winning Screenwriter and Playwright Natasha Lewin has always known that she could enter any room and be looked at as if she were a Caucasian woman. Instead, she chose to openly identify as an unapologetic Black woman. PART ONE of this webinar series is an engaging Fireside Chat focusing on Natasha’s journey from White Privilege to Black Excellence.
African American history cannot be told without including the story of Liberia and “Black Privilege.” 50 years before the abolishment of slavery the American Colonization Society moved 12,000 freed slaves from America to Liberia. PART TWO – BACK TO AFRICA 2021 - LIBERIA: THE CONTINENT’S FIRST BLACK AMERICAN COLONY features a one-on-one discussion with Barkue Tubman, granddaughter of Liberia’s longest serving President and direct descendant of Harriet Tubman. PART TWO will highlight the conjoined history of Liberia and African Americans. Originally written in 1847 by weary freed American slaves who returned to Africa in 1820, and despite years of external pressures for amendment, the citizen provision in Liberia’s constitution has remained. Black citizenship only.
PART THREE –HISTORY OF THE BLACK RACE AND THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS TO CIVILIZATION delves into the origin of White propaganda and racism, the impact of Black conquest on White societies, and ancient Black civilizations from the beginning of time.

About Brilliant Minds Collective:
Brilliant Minds Collective (BMC) is a Think Tank advocating for the Advancement of Black People globally. BMC started organically as a Facebook group of mostly Black professionals from the breadth of the diaspora who were searching for answers about police brutality and how to best support #BLM and other causes after the George Floyd murder. As a Think Tank, BMC strives to not only provide answers and information but to open doors for educated and experienced leaders, doers, and drivers to engage the community to make meaningful lasting change socially, economically, environmentally and politically. We are willing to break out of individual silos, engage in difficult conversations, share knowledge, exchange information, and take action. There's an old African proverb that says, “If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” This group is filled with brilliant minds who share an everyday commitment to create a better world for Black people by exploring opportunities which will become catalysts for permanent change.
