SCE&G and Santee Cooper have been raising customer rates to cover their failed V.C. Summer nuclear expansion project, a $9 billion effort they quit last summer. Solar energy is the means by which residents will limit their rising electric bills created by this failed nuclear project; SC residents pay the country’s highest monthly power bills, according to federal statistics.
