BRIDGE Hosts 5th Annual 5k and West Georgia SingOff In Support of Red Ribbon Week
Nonprofit organization hosts speakers at Bremen City Schools and community health education booth during the Bremen Towne Festival.
- Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) August 29, 2014 - BRIDGE (Bringing Resources in Drug Gripped Environments) is celebrating its 5th anniversary in West Georgia by picking up the pace this year with a variety of community health education and fundraising events. The fun-filled and educational weekend is Oct. 17-18 and includes The Annual West Georgia SingOff at Mill Town Music Hall, the 5th Annual BRIDGE 5k Race, The 21st Bremen Towne Festival and more.
1. West Georgia SingOff - Friday, Oct. 17 @ 6pm:
- West Georgia's version of The Voice and one of the Annual Fundraising competitions is held at and sponsored by Mill Town Music Hall. Singers throughout the Southeast come to participate in front of professional judges for cash prizes. Entry fees are $30 and their fans are invited to attend and vote for their favorite artist for a fee of $5. This year's event will feature three categories-ages 10-13, 14-18, and adult.
- Pre-judging begins immediately. Submit your registration form and performance sample via a link to YouTube or Vine and/or submit an mp3. Registration forms can be downloaded at www.MillTownMusicHall.com.

- Proceeds beyond costs of the program go to BRIDGE, a 501c3 and sponsorship opportunities are available. BRIDGE provides drug educational material and programming to the schools through the Bremen police department.
2. BRIDGE 5k Race, Saturday, Oct. 18 @ 8:30am (register in advance and receive a free t-shirt or register on-site beginning at 7am) :
- Enjoy a run (or walk) through the country of Bremen with a race start time of 8:30am. This race includes a well-marked route, cash prizes for the top three winners in each category, medals for age group winners for 10 years old and older. Awards ceremony is directly following the last runner crossing the finish line.
- Registration is $30 per person.
- Group discounts are available for schools, running teams and corporate teams.

3. Red Ribbon Week Support at the 'Bremen Towne Festival' and in the Bremen City Schools and Haralson County Schools in partnership with Tanner Health System:
- BRIDGE will host two Red Ribbon Week booths, in partnership with Tanner Health System, at the Bremen Towne Festival:
One booth is dedicated to health education and introduction to support resources for families in need related to the war against drugs.
The other booth will host an art competition for kids to remind the community of the risks of experimenting with drugs and alcohol.
- At 11:55am on Oct. 18 during the Bremen Towne Festival community leaders are invited to join in the Community Prayer for West Georgia's Mental and Physical Health, led by Mayor Sharon Sewell in partnership with her fellow Mayors who are able to attend.
- The 21st Bremen Towne Festival, October 18, is in downtown Bremen and is open to all. The Towne Festival and features food, entertainment, a parade, inflatables and more. The festival is in its 21st year.
- BRIDGE is also providing funding assistance to bring two speakers who will address the dangers of drugs with the students of Bremen City Schools and Haralson County Schools.
Red Ribbon Week is celebrated at thousands of schools and communities across America. In its 29th year as the nation's largest and oldest drug prevention campaign, Red Ribbon Week reaches 80 million people each year throughout the United States.
Proceeds beyond costs of the programs are donated to BRIDGE, a 501c3 non-profit organization provides drug educational material and programming to the schools through the Bremen police department. Sponsorship opportunities for the events are still available.
