Earlier this summer, a report published by the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank, titled "Oil Boom in Eagle Ford Shale Brings New Wealth to South Texas," stated, "The oil boom's impact on jobs, income and spending in the region has been profound." The trend in job creation and economic growth in the Eagle Ford area of Texas continues thanks to events like Texas Economic Development & Energy Job Fair held this week which brought in about 800 job seekers, including military veterans, recent college graduates and some who are employed. The economic boom in South Texas was detailed in a report published by the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank included growth of 15.4% in seasonally adjusted retail sales in the 23-county area, sales tax revenue increases of 9.3%, and annualized growth in weekly wages of 14.6%.
