Brand Tango's Unlimited Vacation Club Brochure Wins Again
The results are in, and Brand Tango, a Deerfield, Fla-based marketing, technology and design firm, is proud to announce that the welcome kit designed and created for Newton Square, Pa.-based AMResorts' Unlimited Vacation Club has been recognized once again.
- (1888PressRelease) June 20, 2013 - Sappi Fine Paper North America named it the Gold winner for brochures in the 16th North American Printers of the Year Awards for 2012-2013. The kit, printed by Franklin Dodd Communications, a Nationwide Argosy Solutions Company, of Miami, Fla., was chosen as one of the 10 winners from approximately 1800 entries, including work for nationally known brands such as Marc Jacob and Audi.
During the presentation, the judges were effusive in their praise for the Unlimited Vacation Club piece. "The winner of the brochures this year was over the top," said Dr. Malcolm Kief, a judge and a professor in the Graphic Communication Department at California Polytechnic State University. "It had everything. There's this beautiful black, fabric-covered case, and on the inside is a wonderful black-and-white half-tone printed on metallic paper. Then you pull out the actual book, … it had die-cutting and embossing. It had all kinds of amazing components. The inside was really a very simple design but the photographs were reproduced just flawlessly with lots of contrast, lots of vibrant color, and lots of white space so the white paper really added a nice dimension to the book. It was terrific." The award presentation can be seen at http://www.na.sappi.com/global-programs/printers-of-the-year/current-year-s-winners/gold.
Other judges were Lauren Elliot, principal of Wicked Good Print Production; Ken Lantz, an independent print and process consultant based in New York; and James K. Tenorio, a professor in the Graphic Communications Management Program at University of Wisconsin-Stout Wisconsin's Polytechnic University.
"Every facet of the brochure demonstrates the Brand Tango team's design expertise," said Lilli Rivera, a sales executive at Franklin Dodd who handles the Brand Tango account. "There's a tremendous amount of technical specificity from paper selection to embossing, but it all comes together to create a cohesive brand statement. We are pleased to have been able to bring their vision to reality."
"This was such a pleasant surprise. The design team at Brand Tango has been highly focused on creating immersive brand experiences on tablets and mobile devices so it was nice to see that our print work is still garnering attention and being recognized by industry peers." said James Kluetz, Brand Tango's creative director and the kit's designer.
"We felt sure this piece was going to be a winner for Unlimited Vacation Club, and their strong sales show we were right," says Joe Russoniello, Brand Tango president. "The industry recognition we have received has also been gratifying." Previously, the Unlimited Vacation Club by AMResorts Welcome brochure was recognized at the local and regional level with Gold ADDY awards and it went on to compete for a national ADDY award. With more than 50,000 entries annually, the ADDY Awards are the world's largest advertising competition. The brochure was also a finalist in the American Resort Development Association's ARDY awards.
