- Nassau-Suffolk, NY (1888PressRelease) November 29, 2023 - Bragoli & Associates is thrilled to announce the winner of the $1,000 scholarship award for volunteerism, Emily Meyer! This award recognizes and celebrates Emily’s exemplary and active commitment to volunteerism and her creation of the Emily Meyer Foundation, an organization catering to children with illness, special needs, or those dealing with emergency housing situations due to homelessness or displacement.
Hailing from North Babylon, Emily Meyer has demonstrated extraordinary compassion and dedication to her community. As a child, Emily suffered a nearly fatal allergic reaction on Christmas Eve. During her stay, she received a bag of toys from the hospital’s Child Life department. The department insisted on spreading holiday cheer to patients, and this gesture prompted Emily to follow suit the next year.
At just five years old the following year, Emily and her grandfather gathered toy donations from friends and family before Christmas to give back to the hospital. This generous act prompted Emily to begin her mission of providing holiday gifts to ill children. Emily’s Toy Drive has gifted over 20,000 toys, now donating year-round. As a result, the Emily Meyer Foundation was formed.
“Gifting has positively impacted me because I see first-hand the difference the comfort of toys can make. For that, I am so grateful. There is nothing more rewarding than the feeling of bringing smiles to the faces of kids who need it the most.” - Emily Meyer.
Emily’s commitment to volunteering has been nothing short of exceptional. Her achievements in her community make her a role model for her peers and students nationwide.
“We are impressed by Emily’s accomplishments and how she has shown her commitment to volunteerism. We are honored to recognize her service and support her in attaining her goals.” - Christopher C. Bragoli, ESQ.
