BPL launches a new range of Rechargeable home lighting solutions

Limited (BTVL), the leading rechargeable lighting systems company in India, announced a breakthrough innovation in rechargeable LED lighting technology - a new range of portable home lighting solution (BPL Chirag, Chirag DX and BPL SL1300). The recently developed, affordable BPL Chirag, Chirag DX and BPL SL1300, range uses innovative 'Q' Tech, technology. Chirag DX and BPL SL1300 are also equipped with Solar Panel.
With BPL 'Q' Tech, unlike the 8 -12 hours of charging required by other lights in the category, this new range of lighting product requires only 4 hours for full charging and gives 5 hours of light. The unique Q Tech technology allows charging even in fluctuating power and has the AC mains charging range from 90 Volts to 260 Volts. The solar panels on a day's charge can provide upto 3.5 hours of light.
"With our breakthrough Q tech Technology, we were able to bring down the charging time drastically. BPL Chirag was test launched in UP, the state with the maximum electricity issue. After its success in UP, we went back to the drawing board and created more products in the category. Developed at the BTVL R&D Centre in Bangalore, these products were designed to address the most common and widespread problem faced by millions across India and other developing countries on account of power outages which interrupts lives. BTVL spent a lot of time understanding the need and limitations of the people in the region and after rigorous R&D, has come up with this new range of products which will suit the needs of the people.
Lack of electricity is one of the main constraints in the development of rural India where 57% of the Indian population resides. Long power cuts are a reality and it is important that the viable options that are made available, address the existing problems. Most of the rechargeable lights fail in the rural areas because they need 8-12 hours of charging at a constant current charge.
BPL closely looked at all of these constrains and worked on its innovative 'Q Tech' Technology to offer the best solutions to the market in the form this new range of product. It has gone a step further by introducing Chirag DX and BPL SL1300, that have, to some extent eliminated the dependence on the regular power supply as it has an option to harness the power of the sun through its solar panels.
The unique Q Tech technology from BPL drastically shortens the time needed to recharge the light completely. The range uses cool daylight white LEDs and designed to provide 360 degree illumination (BPL Chirag DX has a 180 degree illumination option). The light is powered by a 3.3 volt, 1600 mAh Battery.
The range is mechanically shock resistant and has been widely tested on different parameters like functional reliability, environmental testing, climatic variations and transport and handling stress.
Effective August 2011, these products will be available across Jharkhand/Bihar through a well connected network of distributors and retailers. The company also has a strong service network in Jharkhand/Bihar.
BPL Chirag, Chirag DX and BPL SL1300 are prices at Rs. 850, Rs. 699 and Rs.1299 respectively with a 1 year warrantee and the company is confident that they will be readily accepted by the consumers.
