Bova Cinema Unveils Bova Books And Releases Robert Agro-Melina's Joe And The Mysteries Of Dream Hall
Joe and the Mysteries of Dream Hall is not the Dork Diaries. Compared to Roald Dahl with a splash of Tolkien and Lemony Snicket, Joe is a rollicking action adventure for children of all ages.
- (1888PressRelease) November 01, 2012 - Joe and the Mysteries of Dream Hall is Raiders of the Lost Arc and Nelson DeMille suspense for kids - a fun and readable adventure-mystery spiced with comedy and joy, pathos and kindness. We meet Joe, a miniature, eight year old orphan as he is about to escape from the only home and family he has ever known - Joshua Bloomingvale Dent's Berkshire Academy, its indigestible RULES and, Madam Marabella Mooseburger, the chief protagonist to transform Joe into a flawlessly mannered boy. With escape the only option, Joe and his imaginary swashbuckling pals concoct the perfect plan to breakout of the boarding school. Of course the plan fails.
Doomed to more years in Dent's dungeon, Joe receives a letter that liberates him from Dent and company and thrusts him into grander adventures at Dream Hall. The owner of Dream hall is an enigmatic man known as Grandfather and the Hall is filled with mysteries and unknowable things. Within days of his arrival at Dream Hall, Joe discovers a plot to adulterate food with chemical additives, the theft of the dwarfs' secret, and a plan to destroy the band of dwarfs. The secret stolen, the dwarfs in danger, a much-loved food about to be adulterated, Joe is drawn into the mysteries of Dream Hall and its madcap residents.
With evil doers known as Strangeways standing in their way, Joe and an outlandish dwarf set off on a quest to recover the stolen secret and in doing so, save the band of little people and foil the plot to pollute the food. Disguise as potentates they enter the lair of a baker who is poisoning the world's favorite food with chemicals. They are trapped and now it's a matter of life and death for Joe. The dwarf's wacky pals attempt a rescue but in the end outcome depends upon something only a boy like Joe could dream of.
