- (1888PressRelease) November 21, 2012 - Montville, CT - The rock/pop band Borrowed Toys has released an album of twelve original songs written by band members Joe Ciaudelli and Nancy Menhart. The album was produced by two-time Grammy award winner Karl Richardson, whose other credits include Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Bee Gees and Barbra Streisand, among many others.
The album also features an all-star line-up of musicians, including New York studio staples Kevin Hupp on drums and Mike Leslie on bass. "I first met this Kevin and Mike when they were playing in the Rick Derringer band," states Joe Ciaudelli. "Rick has been a major influence in my guitar playing. Naturally I was thrilled when Kevin and Mike signed on to our project. They laid a solid rhythm foundation for the songs."
"By the time I got involved in the project, Joe & Nancy had already assembled a top notch team of musicians and engineers," added producer Karl Richardson. "I immediately found the songs fun and accessible."
Music to Benefit Blindness Charity
Borrowed Toys also announced that it will donate the 2012 sales to the Lion's Club Fidelco Charity. Fidelco breeds, trains and places guide dogs with people who have visual disabilities. "Music itself can affect others in a positive fashion," Joe said. "This album was mastered by Greg Lukens, who also mastered albums by Cathy Fink and Rush. As a child Greg was blinded in an accident. He has not only been an inspirational person on this project, but throughout my whole life. Plus, I love dogs. Therefore, Fidelco is a great match"
Better contains 12 new tracks overall and carries an upbeat message throughout: "Our goal was to create a unique set of songs that ranged from just plain fun to introspective, but collectively convened a positive message," states lead singer Nancy Menhart.
