The system allows patients to log in and book an appointment with their doctors and any health professionals online. Patients can also search for and book with a new doctor or health professional. Doctors, health professionals and facilities can also book referrals on the patient's behalf to any doctor or health professional on BookingMD.com. BookingMD fits in any clinic environment whether they use hard-copy or electronic charts. It can fit any facility from walk-in clinics where no appointments are necessary to therapy clinics, health services clinics, dentists, family doctors, and specialists.
The system gives each doctor/professional flexibility on how they accept online bookings. Instead of accepting online bookings, the doctor/professional may choose to either block online bookings or may opt to screen and approve bookings made online.
Patients are notified of upcoming appointments via email, reducing overhead in the clinic caused by phoning and confirming patient appointments. Patients can also be reminded of appointments via text message. If the doctor/professional must cancel an appointment, affected patients are emailed and advised to rebook the appointment. Any changes to an appointment are automatically emailed to the patient.
BookingMD.com provides full privacy for the patient's information. The patient information is shared only with doctors/professionals and facilities that the patient has patronized. A special access code kept by the patient allows the patient to carry his or her profile to any other BookingMD.com registered clinic.
With BOOKINGMD.COM's online booking system, receptionists and medical staff times spent on appointment booking and the telephone are dramatically reduced. A full employee interface allows the clinic's receptionist staff to manage and set up the schedule for their doctors/professionals and other pieces of apparatus that are used within the clinic. The employee interface can add patient demographics without email contacts for patients without email. An optional kiosk feature allows the clinic to deploy a self-check-in computer within their clinic.
