Bonita Springs teen lands role on national television show
Sixteen-year-old Sabrina Golba will appear in Season Four of the television show iShine KNECT.
- (1888PressRelease) June 05, 2012 - Sixteen-year-old Cypress Lake High School student Sabrina Golba was recently selected from thousands of applicants to be a cast member on the television show iShine KNECT. Miss Golba auditioned for the iShine network's television sitcom in Nashville with a monologue performed by her humorous and childlike alter ego, "Angelica." Through the online contest, she won the opportunity to appear on an episode of season four this year and was able to audition for the entire season. On May 7, Brad Mathias, president of Bema Media, notified her that she had won a spot on the show for season four, which will air January 2013.
Miss Golba first created the unique, fun and quirky character "Angelica" about a year ago when she escaped to her room instead of helping her parents with household chores. Angelica's popularity grew within her immediate family and friends, ultimately engaging thousands of regular followers and fans on social media sites. Miss Golba regularly updates her YouTube channel with new "Angelica" videos.
Miss Golba's acting career began at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School in Midland, PA where she learned acting, dance and vocal skills from performing arts teachers Gwyneth Welling, Jennifer Roe-Verba, Krista Shovlin and Sharon Schaller. "I am not surprised by her ability to stay in character," Ms. Welling stated. "But, I am very impressed by how creatively she put it all together."
Prior to moving to Bonita Springs last year, Miss Golba gained inspiration from Steve and Sara Mikulski's spiritual leadership at New Life Baptist Church in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. "Sabrina is like a breath of fresh air," commented Steve Mikulski. "She is eager to learn and grow and is conscious of wanting to do the right thing, I believe she will go very far."
Miss Golba currently attends Living Waters Community Church in Bonita Springs, Fla.
The iShine KNECT television show is the faith-based version of Disney. The Christian media group is dedicated to ministering to pre-teens and their families and appeals to children between the ages of seven and 13.
