Bollywood Fashion Show Brings India’s Flair to the Historic Fort Harrison
On February 1st, the historic Fort Harrison, located at 210 S Fort Harrison Avenue, will be hosting the Hindu Temple Shree Raam Mandir for a lively and colorful Bollywood themed fundraiser.
- Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) January 31, 2020 - The main feature of the event is a Bollywood fashion show with traditional Indian clothing. The event starts at 5:30PM and tickets are available online for $100, all donations will profit Shree Raam Mandir Temple.
India is well known for its diversity and ethnic clothing. With the rise of Bollywood in 1913, the Indian fashion industry has expanded as the film industry grew bringing in new styles and trends. The Fashion show will showcase craftsmanship of Indian clothing. Over 30 designer pieces will be available for auction that night.
The event also features traditional Indian dishes, prepared by award winning chefs from the Fort Harrison. Various raffle and prizes will be available for bid throughout the event.
“The Temple’s goal is to do some capital improvements to the building so it won’t be flooded each year by the rains”, said Seema Ramroop, organizer of the fundraiser and parishioner at Shree Raam Mandir. “And this is a great way to help in that cause, while experiencing something cultural. Join us so we can all wear Bollywood clothing, eat delicious Indian food, watch a fun and exciting fashion show, enjoy some music and do some good in our community.”
Shree Raam Mandir enhances and promotes the learning of the Hindu religion, culture, and traditions through practical and theoretical teachings in which all devotees can learn and grow as Hindus.
