- (1888PressRelease) April 17, 2012 - Cleveland, Ohio-Bob Gillingham Ford, located in Parma, in suburban Cleveland, Ohio, invites Clevelanders to their next Drive One For Your School event to be held on Sunday, April 22nd, 2012. Their goal is to raise $6000 for Valley Forge High School to be used in a scholarship fund and for uniforms.
The Event is called Drive One for Your School and is sponsored by Ford Motor Company. This year's Drive One 4 UR School program will put a special emphasis on Ford fuel efficiency and technology. Ford Motor Company will be paying Valley Forge High School $20.00 for one household member to take a short test drive in any Ford model he or she chooses, and then fill out a 1 minute evaluation of the vehicle driven. By completing 300 test drives, $6000.00 will be raised for the school.
"Ford is trying to raise $1 million across the country for schools since there is so much need for funding of school sports and extra-curriculars," said Bob Gillingham, owner of Bob Gillingham Ford. "The participants get to drive the model of their choice on a short route in a relaxed atmosphere while at the same time raising money for the school. It doesn't cost the participants anything except a little bit of their time and it's fun because they get to drive a new Ford vehicle without any obligation."
This event will be held at the Bob Gillingham Ford dealership parking lot located on 8383 Brookpark Road in Parma, Ohio on Sunday, April 22nd from 9am - 4pm, and will feature the new 2012 Focus, Fusion, Taurus, Escape, Mustang, Explorer, Edge, Fiesta, F150 pickup, and the Flex.
Light refreshments and hot dogs will be offered to participants. Gift bags will be presented to the first 300 participants. There will be a $100 Best Buy gift card awarded to one of the drivers. There will also be gift basket raffles, a 50/50 raffle and Valley Forge students will be sponsoring a car wash on the premises. Finally each qualifying test drive will enter you into a national drawing for a brand new 2013 Ford Escape which will be awarded to a lucky driver!
Drivers must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license and the drivers are required to provide an insurance card as proof of insurance. Only one person per household may participate. And although it is not required, it is highly recommended and preferred that drivers schedule their test drive, by calling ahead to Colleen Tyrone at 440-884-6112 and ask for Colleen or email her at pchefcolleen ( @ ) cox dot net; this will enable us to provide an orderly processing of the drivers to minimize their wait time dot
Bob Gillingham Ford, a member of the Parma C/B/S (Community Business Schools) collaborative, will be providing the vehicles and coordinating the festivities.
