Bob Gillingham Ford and Normandy High School Fun-Raiser to Raise $8000 in One Day of FUN

- (1888PressRelease) November 08, 2011 - Cleveland, Ohio-Ok, so when is a Fundraiser a Fun-Raiser? It's when it doesn't cost the participants any money to raise funds for the good cause!
In this case, the good cause is Normandy High School on West Pleasant Valley Road in Parma, Ohio. They are attempting to raise $8000.00 in one day of FUN. It doesn't cost anyone anything! So how does this work? The Event is called Drive One for Your School.
This year's Drive One 4 UR School program will put a special focus on Ford fuel efficiency and technology. Ford Motor Company is sponsoring this event by paying the local Parma, Ohio area high school $20.00 for one household member to take a 5 minute test drive at Normandy High School in any Ford vehicle he or she chooses, and then fill out a 1 minute evaluation of the car driven. In addition Ford Motor Company will pay an additional $10.00 for a second test drive by the same driver in the new 2012 Ford Focus.
"The benefit to them is exposure of the new Ford products to many in the community not familiar with their products," said Bob Gillingham, owner of Bob Gillingham Ford. "The participants get to drive the vehicle of their choice on a short route in a relaxed atmosphere while at the same time raising money for the school. And it doesn't cost them anything but a small amount of their time."
This event will be held at Normandy High School, located on 2500 Pleasant Valley Rd in Parma Ohio on Saturday, November 12th from 9am - 4pm, and will feature the new Focus, Fusion, Taurus, Escape, Mustang, Explorer, Edge, Fiesta, F150 pickup, and possibly the Flex. The Normandy High School's boys and girls basketball teams will hold orange and white scrimmage there, and several prominent Cleveland former professional sports athletes will be on hand for free autographs and questions. Light refreshments like drinks and hot dogs will be served to participants. Gift bags will be presented to all participants. There will also be a raffle for a $100 Best Buy gift card too.
Drivers must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license and the drivers are required to provide an insurance card as proof of insurance. Only one person per household may participate. Bob Gillingham Ford, a member of the Parma C/B/S (Community Business Schools) collaborative, will be providing the vehicles and Don Sparks, athletic director for Normandy High School, will be coordinating the festivities.
