Dr. Desai grows up in Joliet Illinois, Chicago, and studied molecular biochemistry and biophysics at the Illinois institute of technology. He earned his medical degree from the Chicago medical school and graduated with honors. Later he completed his ophthalmology residency at Saint Louis University- St. Louis, Missouri, and a two-year surgical fellowship in Vitreoretinal diseases at Henry Ford Hospital-Detroit Michigan.
Dr. Desai is also associated with many societies and organization which includes the American Society of Retina Specialists, the Illinois Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Board of Ophthalmology. , Dr. Ankit Desai is also a recipient of the Vitals Patients’ Choice Award and Compassionate Doctor Award 2020.
