Blue Coat Appoints Steve Daheb Chief Marketing Officer
Marketing Veteran to Drive Global Marketing Initiatives.

(Nasdaq: BCSI), a leading provider of Web security and WAN optimization, today announced that networking industry marketing veteran Steve Daheb has been appointed chief marketing officer (CMO) and senior vice president, effective immediately. Daheb is responsible for the company's unified global marketing initiatives, corporate branding and positioning, corporate and marketing communications and regional and field marketing worldwide. He reports directly to Mike Borman, president and chief executive officer.

Mr. Daheb was most recently the chief marketing officer for Emulex Corporation, where he helped grow the company's presence in existing markets and facilitated its entry and growth in the new converged networking market. He previously served in a number of executive sales, marketing and business development roles for a variety of networking companies, including BlueArc, Tasman Networks, Brocade and Lucent/Ascend. His experience in video, security and networking gives him valuable market insight.
The CMO Institute named Mr. Daheb as one of the Top Ten Chief Marketing Officers of 2009 in its CMO Awards announced in April 2010. The Chief Marketing Officer awards recognize executives for utilizing best practices that transcend industry and technology boundaries and for demonstrating outstanding leadership across various disciplines of the marketing field. In addition, in June 2010, Mr. Daheb was named as a finalist in the 2010 American Business Awards for Marketing Officer of the Year.
