Blue Chip Delivers Speed and Reliability to World Superbike Team
Fixi Crescent Suzuki team Technology Partner, Blue Chip, continues to enhance team communications through satellite technology, and IT performance through Iaas, Cloud and online Backup and DR solutions.
- (1888PressRelease) May 02, 2013 - With the European round of the 2013 eni FIM Superbike World Championship under way, Blue Chip, official Fixi Crescent Suzuki team Technology Partner for the seventh year, has expanded team communications through satellite and Cloud technology, with cost savings.
Blue Chip managing director, Richard Cook, said: "Last year, Fixi Crescent Suzuki was the first team to use satellite internet connections, lowering their communications budget by between £5,000 and £10,000. Building on this, they have subscribed to Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Blue Chip's Cloud based online Backup and Disaster Recovery (DR) system, SecureVault to both streamline their day-to-day communications and ensure a faultless Business Continuity plan."
By moving Fixi Crescent Suzuki's IT infrastructure to Blue Chip's data centre where it is both secured and managed centrally, the need to administer and update their own IT equipment has been removed allowing them more time to focus on racing. Moreover, the team can now access all its data as and when required, on any network and on any device.
Meanwhile, backup through SecureVault happens seamlessly and automatically online, with two copies held in encrypted storage across two locations; Blue Chip's data centre and at its Poole HQ. This removes the responsibility from staff and covers disaster recovery requirements by providing a 'Bare Metal Restore' option. Procuring both these services on a pay per usage basis has also greatly reduced costs.
Cook adds: "Combined with the satellite links Blue Chip implemented on their behalf last year, the Fixi Crescent Suzuki team now have a state-of-the-art IT system, which is perfect for a working environment that involves plenty of travel. Cloud Technology is the most dependable and robust solution, whilst also being the most cost effective."
