Blu Girls Signs Susi Mai As New Kiteboarding Ambassador
The kiteboarding champion is the newest addition to the elite group of Blu Girls ambassadors and will be representing them in a tour of international events.
- Boulder, CO (1888PressRelease) May 14, 2014 - This month, Blu Girls has announced that they have signed on international kiteboarding champion Susi Mai as their latest ambassador for their women's adventures credo and community. Mai will be representing Blu Girls throughout her MaiTai events tour which is taking place in exotic global locales such as Maui, Ireland, and the Hamptons.
Blu Girls is an international community of both budding and established "adventuristas" who regularly embody femininity, sports, fashion, and adventure. Blu Girls' mission is to both educate and empower women through fashion and sports, and its Blu Girls Ambassadors. The Blu Girls Ambassadors are accomplished women who all perfectly personify the principles promoted by Blu Girls, including independence, entrepreneurship, fashion, and adventure. As a multi-time champion of kiteboarding, co-founder of a booming new entrepreneurship conference, and fashion designer of kiteboarding gear, Susi Mai was an ideal choice for the Blu Girls ambassador team.
Born in the Dominican Republic, Susi Mai holds an impressive array of accomplishments under her belt. Mai won her first international PKRA competition after only 8 months of kiteboarding practice, and went on to secure other titles such as the 3-time consecutive winner of the King of Air Maui competition in 2003, 2004, and 2005. Besides Mai's demonstrated level of athletic excellence, Mai had also launched the first-ever range of kiting gear designed and sold exclusively for women in collaboration with Cabrinha.
When she's not participating in MaiTai events which she cofounded with top investor Bill Tai, she is also a patron of KiteRight Charity, a non-profit organization that aims to use kite sports to improve the lives of others. "There's nothing better than the rush of the ocean under your board and harnessing the power of the wind with your kite - I can't wait to bring people out there so they can learn to love this sport as much as I do," says Mai.
