Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) February 17, 2012 - The shareholders of Blake & Dorsten, P.A have recently announced the 18 month anniversary of Blake & Dorsten, P.A., a Tampa Bay area law firm that concentrates on criminal defense and personal injury cases. It was formed on August 17, 2010 by Nicholas Dorsten and Rex Blake.

"We saw a need for a different kind of law firm in the Tampa Bay/St. Petersburg area," said Dorsten. "We liked the idea of being a full service law firm with a personal touch. To this day, we make sure our cell phone numbers are on every business card because we want to make it easy for our clients to reach us when they need to."

Dorsten received his law degree from the University of Toledo, where he also interned with the Public Defender's Office. Rex received his undergraduate, MBA and law degree all at the University of Florida.

The shareholders of Blake & Dorsten, P.A. began their careers at the Pinellas County State Attorney's Office, where they practiced for several years. Shortly after their involvement there, they became Lead Trial Attorneys; both shareholders have handled over 60 jury trials ranging from DUI to murder.

While Rex Blake continued to gain experience in criminal defense, Nicholas Dorsten chose to move to personal injury, trying and settling hundreds of cases for the victims of car accidents, wrongful deaths and slip and falls.

In the summer of 2010, the two former prosecutors decided to team up again, this time representing criminal defendants and the injured. Today, the Tampa attorneys represent their clients for criminal defense cases such as drug offenses, domestic violence, theft crimes, DUI, juvenile defense, and more.
