Blackstone Career Institute Named a Military Friendly School for Third Consecutive Year
Blackstone Career Institute has been named a Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs magazine for the third consecutive year.
- (1888PressRelease) September 23, 2011 - ALLENTOWN, Pennsylvania - Blackstone Career Institute announces that it has been named a Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs magazine for the third year running. This honor places Blackstone among the top 20% of all colleges, universities and trade schools across the nation.
The Military Friendly Schools Guide was created by G.I. Jobs to help military members, veterans, and military spouses find career training that can meet their unique needs. The methodology used to determine which schools hit the mark was made even more stringent this year, due to steep competition. Schools were chosen based on ratings in several categories, including both financial and non-financial efforts to recruit and retain military and veteran students, as well as the school's academic accreditations.
When asked what he thinks makes Blackstone a Military Friendly School, Director Kevin McCloskey said "Whether potential students are active duty military members looking for a civilian career to transition into or are military spouses looking for a portable career that can travel with them, our faculty and staff work with those students from Day One to ensure that they have the tools necessary to meet their educational goals. Since courses are offered online with 24/7 access to lessons, our format is appealing to a wide range of students, but does make sense for military and military spouse students with unpredictable schedules and the possibility of moving from base to base or deployment. Our staff is dedicated to helping prospective military and military spouse students understand the education benefits that are available to them and navigating the process that takes them from thinking about their future to actually making it better."
All of Blackstone's online career training programs are approved by DANTES, Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support. Blackstone's career training programs are also approved for VA Education Benefits, Military Tuition Assistance, and benefits available through MyCAA for eligible military spouses.
