Black Wins Cornerstone Award CECC
S&ME's Chuck Black, PE, VP, wins annual Cornerstone Award from the Civil Engineers Club of Charleston.
- Charleston-North Charleston, SC (1888PressRelease) May 23, 2012 - A vice president of S&ME, Inc. has won the Civil Engineers Club of Charleston (CECC) Cornerstone Award.
He is Vice President Charles (Chuck) Black, Jr., an engineering and environmental firm which has operated a branch in Charleston for 32 years. Black, a registered professional engineer, is also an S&ME senior environmental engineer, and has earned certification as an Accredited Professional with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED AP).
The Cornerstone Award is presented annually to a member who has provided continual service to the CCEC and the civil engineering profession that has made an impact to the profession and the club. Black is a 20-year member of CECC and has served in several officer roles, including president in 2002. He is now South Carolina Governor to National Region 4 of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and is a past president of both the South Carolina ASCE and the Eastern Branch of ASCE.
The award was presented at the CECC's May meeting by Erica Chase, PE, of Stantec, Inc., CECC's president.
