Black History Month Celebration Goes Stylishly Beyond the 28th
BEYOND 28 - Fashion Celebration for Black History Month to benefit the ARTS will showcase fashion, art and music. The event will feature international talent at this charity event for children.
- Fort Lauderdale, FL (1888PressRelease) February 14, 2013 - While many in our multi-cultural and multi-ethnic schools, businesses, and communities take time to acknowledge and celebrate the many historical achievements and trail-blazing accomplishment of African Americans during the traditional month of February, plans are underway for a stylish event to keep the celebration going,...extending beyond this month with an unique fashion production called BEYOND 28 .
The event will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2013 in the elegant Sport of Kings Theater at GULFSTREAM PARK ( Hallandale Beach ), the proud venue sponsor of this event. This inaugural event will pay tribute to Black achievements with the spotlight on Fashion icons and trailblazers - both past and present. The event will benefit kids pursuing their dreams in the Arts, Music ,and Fashion. The first recipients of the scholarship /donations will be the Admit Music Program - South Florida and talented Design & Architecture Senior High (DASH) school students.
South Floridian contributors to the growing success of the fashion business will be recognized and showcased along with a flashback tribute to the contributions of Black Models, Designers, and Stylists through the years. A few former models - now prominent business people and entrepreneurs - will make a surprise return to the runway. The Designer Line-up of Provisions by Keisha Anderson Kirkland-Smith ( Chicago ), Pure Soul Designs ( Puerto Rico ), Kesi Case Swimwear ( Davie, Fl); Amogul Empire Clothing,LLC ( Chicago ); Toshiba Fashions bv Betty Perkins ( Miramar); JB Couture by Judith Barnes (Miami /Jamaica); Marce Men's Couture ( Coral Gables ); Ai of Ft. Lauderdale student designer -Ritchie Jean Pierre ( Haiti ) and others will be all be soulfully choreographed into a sizzling "haute " fashion production featuring some of the most skillful Models of Color. In addition, an innovative Stylist presentation by Angelique Michelle of Iconiq Collection and talented performers will grace the stage. Behind the scenes, the production team of freelance professionals from FSI Productions and Make-up and Hair stylists team provided by Make-up by Rory.com are gearing up for a momentous night of creativity on the catwalk.
The event starts at 6:00 pm offering eye-catching displays, art by Grace Cafe & Galleries, artistic expressions, Cash bar, complimentary Hors D'oeuvres, Fashion Stylin' Vignettes, cool Music vibes, and Silent Auction. The fashion show will fill the stage and runway with shades of beauty, style, and talent starting at 7:00pm.
