Black Eyed Guy Unleashes A Lineup Of Likable Characters And Brave New Worlds With Art Prints And Greeting Cards For Fall 2013
Retailers have first look during NY Now Show, Lifestyle division, Booth 7445.
- (1888PressRelease) July 31, 2013 - Black Eyed Guy, the Santa Fe-based design studio known for its quirky yet sophisticated gifts and art prints, will expand its greeting line with theme cards at the upcoming NY Now gift fair. It will also introduce two new print lines: "The 1995 Originals" and "The Black and White Collection".
Launched in July 2012, by husband and wife team Seth and Kristin Anderson, Black Eyed Guy is a lifestyle brand based on the simple pleasures of just being a kid. The drawings, stemming from Anderson's childhood, radiate a raw uninhibited feeling you had as a kid where you could do or be anything. Black Eyed Guy's fall product line offers something creative, daring and original for the superhero kid who lives inside us all. Be inspired by wishful thinkers like Rudolph's cousin Ralph, a city held afloat by balloons and areoplanes and a deep sea fishing boat Jacques Cousteau would envy.
The Greeting card line comprises a total of 20 new cards in 4 categories (holiday, valentines, birthday and thank you). Black Eyed Guy's unique spin on holidays and special occasions combines humor, wit, and charm all wrapped up in a smart illustration. The "Hey Man, Merry Christmas" card Item# SIHM13 threatens to incite a snicker every time you see it.
Cards are 5" x 7" printed in the USA on biodegradable and recyclable paper individually wrapped in a cello sleeve.
Released for the first time in a limited edition run, The 1995 Originals is a collection of the 16 drawings that shaped the company and philosophy behind Black Eyed Guy. Numbered and signed by president and creator, Seth Anderson, they showcase a variety of foolhardy fellows that inspire the kid in you and the kids among you to be creative, daring and original. "The Original Black Eyed Guy" item# POTOBEGB113, resonates with Anderson. "He's an uninhibited boy with a huge imagination. He's fearless - not afraid to get in there and get that black eye. That's how we should all live our lives, whether we are 4 or 104," says Anderson.
11" x 14" Giclee, printed in the USA.
The Black And White Collection is made up of seven giclee prints that move away from the sillier, quirkier adventures of Black Eyed Guy to a more sophisticated locale. The detail and elegance puts them in a category all their own.
Giclee print available in 2 sizes. Printed in the USA.

About Black Eyed Guy
Black Eyed Guy's drawings reveal the carefree, worriless world we lived in as children where the battle between the id and the superego had not yet begun. Anderson, the kid at heart, adds witty titles giving a beginning to the story but how it ends is entirely up to you. The result is elegantly artistic, high designed and yes - funny works of art. The company offers its stationery line in addition to picture and activity books, flashcards and wall art in independent stores throughout the United States and through the website: www.blackeyedguy.com
