BioMedix Partners with Association of Black Cardiologists to Decrease Healthcare Disparity
BioMedix joins with the Association of Black Cardiologists, Inc., to combat disparities in cardiovascular care and outcomes.
- (1888PressRelease) November 15, 2011 - ST. PAUL, MN - BioMedix, a leader in Health Information Technology (HIT) software and products, has joined with the Association of Black Cardiologists (ABC), a nonprofit organization of health professionals and advocates, in support of their mutual goals for the effective detection and management of cardiovascular disease.
Currently, African-American men and women have significantly higher mortality rates from cardiovascular disease. The partnership supports the ABC 2020 Goal, which aims to reduce the cardiovascular disease disparity gap by 20% by the year 2020 through education, research and advocacy.|
Through an educational grant from BioMedix, ABC will have access to BioMedix PADnet™ Disease Management System 2.0, a cloud-based program designed to identify and track patients with vascular disease via PADnet+ vascular diagnostic devices and automated reporting tools.
"The ABC 2020 Goal embodies the importance of recognizing and reducing disparity in cardiovascular care and outcomes," said John Romans, President and CEO of BioMedix, "We are proud to support ABC and our joint mission to promote more effective care with the use of access-enabling technology."

Use of this powerful reporting and analysis program will support the development of replicable care models and allow ABC leaders to analyze patient care while measuring the success of the steps taken towards the 2020 Goal.
"The ability to monitor disease rates and patient outcomes through the next decade will be vital as ABC works to reach our 2020 goal," said Dr. Marcus Williams, President of the Association of Black Cardiologists, "We are glad to have gained BioMedix as a partner who shares our commitment to reducing the impact of cardiovascular disease."
