BioMedix Design Engineer Honored with 2010 Society of Women Engineers Award

BioMedix Design Engineer, Sara Beck, was recently awarded the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Minnesota's Most Innovative New Program Award. End Quote

Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN-WI (1888PressRelease) September 29, 2010 - The Society of Women Engineers is an elite group of women engineers and technologists.

Mrs. Beck was chosen for this award in recognition of her significant contributions to improve financial management strategies for the Society of Women Engineers in Minnesota and her creation of a package to establish SWE donor benefit levels. During the past year, Sara has capitalized on initial discussions to create a set of events geared at ensuring income to support the Society of Women Engineers' operating plan. Through her work, the society was able to fund an event called, "Wow! That's Engineering" for over 170 underprivileged girls from the Twin Cities.

"I am honored to be recognized by the Society of Women Engineers' Minnesota Section," said Mrs. Beck, "I am grateful for the opportunity SWE has given me to use my project management skills to reach out to girls and open their eyes to all the opportunities and adventures that engineering has to offer."

The Society of Women Engineers has a goal of being the number one resource for women engineers. Pursuit of this goal benefits many engineering intensive companies throughout Minnesota. As a result of her participation in SWE, Sara has brought her strengthened project management skills, leadership and teamwork experience to BioMedix in her position as Design Engineer. In this role, Sara oversees the design, development and testing of BioMedix products, evaluates effectiveness and recommends improvements to ensure that BioMedix continues to offer the best products and services to the medical community.
